Clean Heat Limited

Case Study

Ecostiler Project

Rupert Blackstone of Wattcraft has been working for Clean Heat Limited on the Ecostiler project, funded under the European Union Concerto programme.

Clean Heat is led by William Orchard, one of the founders of the Combined Heat and Power Association and one of the leading experts on CHP in the UK.

The aim of the Ecostiler project is to develop a coordinated approach towards achieving energy efficient communities. Clean Heat, as part of its contribution to the project, has carried out the design of a combined heat and power (CHP) energy centre distributing low temperature heat to buildings and also modelling of optimum configuration of CHP systems.

Rupert Blackstone’s work has been in supporting William Orchard with this modelling, with a focus on the development of a ‘perfect market model’ for correct evaluation of CHP in terms of primary fuel and carbon dioxide emissions allocation to the heat and electricity products.
